Victory for Opponents of Island SuperPrison

In the face of fierce opposition and after spending HK$7 million on the technical and sustainability assessment on site formation and infrastructure, the government is accepting advice from islanders. Summary extracted from the South China Morning Post on 13 October is hereunder:

From Green Peng Chau Association
It is a definite victory not only for Lautau Island but also for Peng Chau owing to its proximity to Hei Ling Chau. Green Peng Chau Association takes this opportunity to thank all of the residents and friends who have strongly supported us in both of the surveys and signature campaigns. We hope to continue to work with you toward a better environment and sustainability on Peng Chau. We would be delighted to hear from you if you are interested to share your energy and vision with us.
